The Bundeschampion of the seven-year-old show jumpers was determined in a class S** jumping competition with jump-off. The youngsters had to be able to jump and be in good condition, and on the third competition day in a row they still had to have enough strength for the high jumps and long distances. The lines and distances were adapted to the young age of the horses, and all in all it was a worthy finale for the best in the country, who were to compete here.
35 riders competed in the early evening on the Burandtwiese, ten of them did not receive any penalties and competed in the jump-off. After Richard Vogel had managed a really fast round with Munin, the winner of the first qualification, zero penalty points, 44.25 seconds), one could already see the Holsteiner gelding by Mylord Carthago MV Chin Chin, bred by Michael Eitel, as the new Champion, with the prize money going to his owner Martin Will in Dagobertshausen.
But then came Caillan, also a Holsteiner. With Rolf-Göran Bengtsson in the saddle, the son of Casall MV Carry was once again considerably faster, stopping the clock at 43.32 seconds. Breeder and owner Gerd Ohlsen can be happy about the new Bundeschampion of seven-year-old show jumpers.

Sophie Hinners and Honey Bunny were already on the move in the first qualification, where they took second place. At the award ceremony on Saturday evening, the pair from Dagobertshausen galloped onto the lap of honour with the bronze medal(0/44.35), beaten by a razor-thin margin by her training partner and partner Richard Vogel. Holstein for the third time, Honey Bunny is also registered with the breeding association in the north. Sire of the grey mare is Livello, dam-sire Cento, bred by Otto Boje Schoof, she is now owned by Richard Grom, Richard Vogel's uncle.
Fourth place for another very fast and clear round went to Christina Gierlich with her Westphalian mare Painted Rijenna by Pilothago - Rüter. The rider was also delighted to receive the Animal Welfare Prize from the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). This special prize is awarded for the outstanding horse-friendly handling and the particularly horse-friendly preparation of the horses for the test during the event.
