Riders Tour: David Will wins second stage in Munich

Munich (fn-press). While the German Show Jumping Derby was taking place in Hamburg, the second stage of the Bemer Riders Tour took place in Munich. At the Horse International Tournament in Riem, David Will won the special test after two clear rounds with the Hanoverian Primus vom Neumühler Hof. He now shares the lead in the Riders Tour overall standings with Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann, who won the Tour opener in Hagen am Teutoburg Forest in April.

With the 13-year-old Primus (by Perigueux - Livello), David Will (Dagobertshausen) was last at the Royal Windsor Horse Show and achieved two top ten placements there. In Munich, the pair confirmed their good form and won the Bavarian Grand Prix without a penalty with by far the fastest time in the second round (56.93 seconds). Three other couples had also come through the course without knocking down, but none nearly as fast as the winners.

Wolfgang Puschak (Aystetten) and the Westphalian Number One (by Call me number One - Acorado) galloped across the finish line after 61.44 seconds, Felix Hassmann (Lienen) and the Holsteiner Carreras (by Cachas - Cassiano) after 63.31 seconds. Denmark's Mathias Norheden Johansen also cleaned twice with Accolade. He finished fourth with a time of 67.13 seconds. The second fastest lap in the second round was David Will's stable colleague Sophie Hinners in 60.17 seconds. But she made a mistake with the Belgian Lennox Vd Bisschop, which meant her fifth place in the end.

After two of eight stages, two riders are now leading the classification: Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann (Pinneberg) and David Will each received 20 points for their victories. Oliver Lazarus, who is starting for South Africa, and Wolfgang Puschak are in third place with 17 points each for their second places.
