Jumping: In 2022 there will be two Nations Cups in Germany
Warendorf (fn-press. The European Equestrian Federation (EEF) has awarded the opening event of the EEF Nations Cup series to the Maimarkt Tournament in Mannheim. This means that for the first time there will be two Nations Cups in show jumping in Germany next year: One as a CSIO3* in Mannheim (May 6th to 10th) and one as usual at the CHIO Aachen (June 24th to July 3rd) at five-star level.The World Equestrian Federation FEI has already given the green light for this.
"We are happy and proud that there will be two Nations' Cups in Germany in 2022 and that we can hold a Nations' Cup in Mannheim for the second time after 2015," said Peter Hofmann, head of the Maimarkt show. Because the European Championships were held in Aachen in 2015, Mannheim became the venue for the 100th Nations Cup in the jumping discipline in Germany that year and has already gained a lot of experience in hosting such a prestigious competition. Hofmann, who is also chairman of the jumping committee of the German Olympic Committee for Equestrianism (DOKR), is happy for both the riders and the Mannheim audience: "Nationscups are always something special, because the spectators are even more excited . The riders are allowed to wear the red jacket, represent their country and may even recommend themselves for the upcoming championships.”
Hans-Joachim Erbel, President of the German Equestrian Federation (FN), emphasized the importance of the Nations Cups for equestrian sport. He said: “We thank EEF and FEI for giving us the chance to host two Nations Cups in Germany. With the CHIO Aachen, we have had THE outstanding and world-famous Nations Cup shows in Germany for many years.
