Team Germany: The german show jumpers for Tokyo

Warendorf (fn-press).
Following the final selection tournament in Rotterdam/NED, the Jumping Committee of the German Olympic Committee for Equestrianism (DOKR) has proposed the following riders and horses to the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) for the start at the Olympic Games in Tokyo (July 23 to August 8) (in alphabetical order): -Daniel Deußer (Rijmenam/BEL) with Killer Queen VDM

  • Christian Kukuk (Riesenbeck) with Mumbai
  • Maurice Tebbel (Emsbüren) with Don Diarado
  • André Thieme (Plau am See) with DSP Chakaria

Unlike before, only three riders per team are allowed at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, there is no so-called strike result. The jumping competitions will take place in Tokyo from August 3 to 7. The individual medals will be decided first, with Deußer, Kukuk and Thieme competing there. Only then follows the team decision ("Nations Cup"). Between these two decisions, a rider-horse pair can be substituted. "The team decision has top priority for us. We see the best possible chances of success if Maurice Tebbel and Don Diarado start for the team," explained national coach Otto Becker the decision and added: "Who will start together with Maurice in the Nations' Cup, we will decide on site."

The quarantine of the horses before the departure to Tokyo will take place from July 16 to 24 on the grounds of the Federal Riding Center in Warendorf. The following horses or riders will also go into quarantine: Marcus Ehning (Borken) with Funky Fred and A la Carte NRW, David Will (Marburg) with C-Four as well as Christian Kukuk's Checker. jbc
