Team Germany: No Olympic Games for Benjamin Werndl

Benjamin Werndl's Daily Mirror will not enter the quarantine of horses before departure for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. As confirmed in the aftermath of the last sighting tournament in Kronberg, the gelding has injured himself there. Carina Scholz (Sassenberg) and Tarantino will take his place. Although only four riders and horses will be flying to Tokyo on July 14, a total of nine horses will be taking part in the quarantine training camp on the CHIO Aachen grounds as a precautionary measure in order to be able to compensate for any short-term losses before the Olympic Games.


The Dressage Committee of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) had formulated its nomination proposal for Tokyo following the tournament in Kronberg. The official nomination will be made by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB). jbc
