Seventh German victory in the eighth Nations Cup in Mannheim

(pbb) The numerous spectators saw very good performances also on Wednesday, the second day of the competitions for Para-Equestrians, the dressage riders with handicap, presented by LOTTO Baden-Württemberg. The second victory at the second start as part of the 58th Mannheim Maimarkt Tournament was secured on Wednesday morning in the MVV Riding Stadium by the bronze medal winner of the 2021 Paralympics in Tokyo, Regine Mispelkamp (Geldern on the Lower Rhine). The 51-year-old Pferdewirtschaftsmeister distanced the competition in Grade V in the Prize of the S.C. Casco Group and received 72.103 percentage points from the international panel of judges on her gelding Highlander Delight's. Closest to her was Swiss rider Nicole Geiger with her 17-year-old stallion Amigo (70.159). After her second place yesterday at the start of the three Para-days, Mona-Sophie Bimmel (Ilsfeld) came in an excellent third place (69.286) in the saddle of her Hanoverian gelding Fabricio von Nymphenburg. The Brazilian rider Rodolpho Riskalla also won for the second time in the Grade IV competition for the Diringer & Scheidel Prize. Don Henrico, his already 19-year-old Hanoverian chestnut stallion, and he were rewarded this time with 73.333 percentage points. Hanne Brenner (Wachenheim), who was third the day before after two mistakes ("One from my horse, one from me!"), finished in second place (70.447); she had again saddled her 12-year-old Rhineland mare, Belissima M. There was a change of places compared to Tuesday in the Prize of the E.A. Mattes GmbH (Grade III): Today the Canadian rider Roberta Sheffield won on her 13-year-old mare Fairuza with 71.520 percentage points ahead of yesterday's winner Melanie Wieland. The Osnabrück rider had again saddled Lemony's Loverboy, a nine-year-old Hanoverian gelding, and both performances were rewarded with 70.490 percent. There was a repeat of Tuesday's podium finishes in the Grade I LOTTO Baden-Württemberg Prize: Martina Benzinger in front of Laurentia Yen-Ti Tan twice. The rider from Cottbus in the saddle of the gray mare Nautika came to 73.095 percent, the rider from Singapore reached 72.857 percent with the gelding Hickstead and on the Hanoverian stallion Banestro 71.488. At the end of the day, the Austrian rider Pepo Puck (Grade II) achieved his second victory in the MVV Riding Stadium in the LOTTO Baden- Württemberg Prize. With the Hanoverian gelding Sailor's Blue, he scored 70.686 percentage points and was thus a wafer-thin margin ahead of Heidemarie Dresing (Osnabrück) in the saddle of La Boum, a mare bred in Hanover that is only nine years old (70.637). Third place went to Gianna Regenbrecht (Münster) and Fuerst Sinclair, a 12-year-old Oldenburg stallion (69.951). In the Nations Cup, Germany repeated last year's success with a total score of 430.698 percent and secured its seventh victory at the eighth staging (in 2017, the Netherlands prevailed). The German team rode with Regine Mispelkamp (total 141.560 percent), Heidemarie Dresing (141.698), Martina Benzinger (147.440). Gianna Regenbrecht's score (137.029) was the strike result. Second went to Japan (387.587) ahead of Poland (380.275).
