Currently, it is not uncommon for tournaments to be postponed, cancelled or affected by changes due to the Corona pandemic.

The international london tournament is also affected by a change. But it is not due to Corona.

A press release from organizers said the Olympia London venue in West Kensington, which has hosted the iconic horse show for 49 years, is undergoing a redevelopment plan. As a result of COVID-19, construction activity for the re-development program has accelerated. The revised construction program will limit the venue's use for events in December 2021, hence the decision to move the Christmas Horse Show from Olympia London to ExCeL London.

Simon Brooks-Ward, Event Director, commented, "We are delighted to be able to hold the event at ExCeL London. This modern venue gives us the opportunity to build on all the aspects of the Christmas Horse Show that our visitors, hospitality guests, sponsors, participants and officials know and love. The scale and flexibility of the ExCeL will allow us to add exciting new features and provide a larger arena with integrated hospitality."

"Our 90,000-strong audience can expect to see the best international competitions, including three FEI World CupTM Qualifiers in Show Jumping, Dressage and Driving, alongside the usual wonderful mix of international equestrian displays, The Kennel Club Dog Agility, The Shetland Pony Grand National and, of course, the Christmas Finals."

"The ExCeL will offer our horse show customers excellent facilities, first class restaurants, fast digital connections, ample parking and a relaxed environment for buying Christmas gifts in the show's renowned Shopping Village."

"Our partners, sponsors and exhibitors, including the FEI, British Equestrian and Longines, are all supportive of the move and look forward to a new version of the Show at ExCeL."

Simon Mills, Executive Director - Exhibitions, ExCeL London said, "We have a track record for delivering world-class events, from globally recognized trade and consumer shows to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and BBC Sports Personality of the Year. As such, we are delighted to welcome an international equestrian show to ExCeL. We are very much looking forward to working with the organizing team to create an unforgettable event for the equestrian community, offering a world-class experience with a range of new opportunities."
