The Holsteiner Verband Vermarktungs und Auktions GmbH has opened the sales year 2022. At the 36th spring auction, the Calido I son Calitino advanced to the top price. He was knocked down for 54,000 Euros via online auction and will be at home in an Italian sport stable in the future.

The grey stallion with the catalogue number 2, Calitino by Calido I-Caretino out of Stamm 104 A, aroused high desires: The dam of the four-year-old gelding in XL format is none other than Caretana BB, who has been successful in show jumping up to 1.50 metres under Niklaus Schurtenberger and is also already a stallion dam with Casello by Casalito. "The mare family's own sporting achievements give us hope for a promising career in the show jumping ring," said a delighted Managing Director and Auction Manager Roland Metz.

The second most expensive offer was catalogue number 5, Vermicelle b by Vagabond de la Pomme-Clarimo. The large-framed mare, born in 2017, is not only successful in tests for young show jumpers, but also comes from a dam that placed at advanced (S) level. With a bid of 41,000 Euros from customers in Germany, the virtual hammer fell for this mare. Four other horses cracked the 30,000 Euro mark: For 36,000 Euros, the Million Dollar Coriano daughter Kontiki with catalogue number 8 will move to Great Britain. Catalogue number 6, Californication VLN by Diamant de Semilly-Clearway, was also very interesting. Not only her recently deceased sire makes this grey mare so precious: Her dam Colina was internationally successful up to 1.50 metres. Californication VLN changed owners for 34,000 Euros. The Casall-Cambridge-son Cookie also scores with a high relationship performance and convinced even under saddle: The auction ended successfully for his new owners at 33,500 Euros. The catalogue number 1, Lilith by Diarado-Cassini I, was worth 31,500 Euros to her new owners. "A lot of horses will stay in Germany and will be trained here in show jumping and eventing stables, so we will certainly see and hear a lot more from them in the future," Roland Metz summed up. The average price of the 28 horses sold was around 21,500 Euros.
