Holstein foal auction at the German Jumping Derby: on the trail of the Derby winners
(Hamburg/Kein Flottbek) Once again, the organisers of the German Show Jumping and Dressage Derby in Hamburg are making it possible for a selected collection of Holstein foals to be auctioned on Thursday afternoon, May 26.
All those who were there live at the time will certainly remember the brilliant premiere in 2017. At that time, the auction was accompanied by Casall's farewell and his victory in the Global Champions Tour. Of course, one of Casall's offspring will be present at this edition as well. Some of the other nine foals are sired by younger stallions, but they have already attracted attention. For example, there is United Derby, a stallion with the catalogue number 5, who is an offer with a lot of Derby connection, both through his sire United Way by Uriko and his dam Feine Zera by Catoki. The dam of United Way, Carrasina by Concerto II (Thomas Kleis/2009), as well as the dam of Feine Zera, Zera by Cero (Pato Muente/2017), already won the German Jumping Derby.
There is also a lot of Derby history in the veins of catalogue number 9, Collins Nephew. As the name suggests, this son of the Bundeschampion Crack comes from the family of Toni Hassmann's three-time Derby winner Collin by Contender. The dam of this stallion prospect is a full sister to Collin. From this important dam line, which is anchored in the Holstein mare line 4539, comes among others the important Constant son Chin Chin. Besides these two outstanding offers, there are eight other very interesting foals in the lot. They are by Zuccero, Chezarro, For Carsten, Vingino, Crack, Jasper and Vigado. "With this small but above average collection we can offer our customers very special Holsteiner foals. I am looking forward to this extraordinary setting - the Derby in Klein Flottbek simply has an atmospheric flair," thinks Managing Director Roland Metz.
The auction, which will be held in hybrid format, will take place on 26 May in the afternoon on the main square in front of the large VIP tent.
