Eleven days ago he celebrated his 40th birthday, today he has given himself a wonderful present 'for his round': Tim Rieskamp-Goedeking has won the Frankfurt Championships, the FRAPORT Prize, at the International Festhalle Riding Tournament Frankfurt (IFRF). "It is so nice to ride in a full hall again, where it crackles and tingles. It's a great incentive," the show-jumping professional said happily. 52 starters competed in this jumping competition, 15 qualified for the jump-off, but the spectators had to wait until the seventh rider in the jump-off for the first clear round. Swiss rider Adrian Schmid on Chicarito managed that, then the ice was broken, four more followed, but none of them conquered the course as quickly as Rieskamp-Goedeking with his 13-year-old Westphalian Coldplay. "Everything worked out as I had planned," the winner told us. "And Coldplay just fought along super at the end, to the last jump it got quite far." The pair's last victory in a three-star show jumping competition was seven months ago, so Frankfurt is already becoming a top finish to the year for Rieskamp-Goedeking. The 40-year-old completed the course in 39.21 seconds.

Only one rider was faster than him, Richard Vogel with Caracho, but at the penultimate jump the bar rolled. Vogel, however, was among the first to congratulate the winner with a hearty high-five. Second place went to Vogel's partner Sophie Hinners on her new horse SG's Air Pilot. Hinners has only had the ten-year-old in her stable for a few weeks, Frankfurt was her second competition with the Oldenburg. The German Champion of 2021 also jumped clear, but was 0.69 seconds slower than Rieskamp-Goedeking. A small surprise came in third place: This was Paweena Hoppe's first ever success at three-star level. Her partner was the 16-year-old Nashville, who had previously been ridden by Jan Wernke. Wernke was the last winner in the Grand Prix of Frankfurt so far in 2019.
However, this 1.45-metre jumping competition was not only about honour and prize money, it was also the first of four jumping competitions this weekend in which the riders could collect points for the world ranking. Another reason for Tim Rieskamp-Goedeking to be happy! The professional has been running his own jumping stable in Steinhagen since 2008. His hobby: breeding mini Shetland ponies. Who knows, maybe he will treat himself to a new fancy little 'Shetty stallion' from the prize money...?

Nimble Frenchman

The Youngster Tour in the Festhalle is advertised for six- and seven-year-old young show jumpers and is extremely popular with international riders. 48 pairs competed in the first qualification early on Friday evening. 16 six- and 32 seven-year-old youngsters are gaining experience in Frankfurt. The victory went to the seven-year-old daughter of Quadrio Tame, Farah Tame, under the saddle of Julien Anquetin. The 30-year-old runs a show and training stable in France, which is owned by his father Franck Anquetin. Father Franck was himself active in international show jumping and seems to have passed on 'fast genes' to his son. He had also amazed the audience two hours earlier at the international opening jumping competition, the Prize of van Laack GmbH. He won the three-star jumping competition with his 16-year-old Belgian Gravity of Greenhill. The really amazing thing about it: He was a whole three and a half seconds faster than Felix Haßmann. Haßmann, who is known for his very fast way of riding and is nicknamed 'Flying Felix', sat in the saddle of his ten-year-old Quiwitino WZ and needed 59.38 seconds for the course. Anquetin had whizzed through the first qualifier for the Grand Prix in 55.88 seconds.
The opening jumping competition immediately highlighted the international line-up at the IFRF: Five nations were represented in the first ten places: France, Germany, Ireland, Norway and Switzerland.
