US-Amazon Chloe Reid wins Grand Prix of Deutsche Kreditbank AG

(Redefin) She first had to wait, wait a few minutes: for the 25-year-old US-Amazon Chloe Reid, between jumping out of the saddle and the great joy of victory there were at least the rides of seven competitors. "I've been to a jump-off so many times, knowing that great people like Eiken Sato or Janne are following me - the wait really makes you nervous," laughed the winner of the Deutsche Kreditbank AG Grand Prix at the Redefin horse festival.< /b>

Souper Shuttle, an eleven-year-old Hanoverian mare, completed the 42.35-second, clear round in the jump-off of the most prestigious show jumping competition of the three-day international show. "Our next goal is the Nations Cup show in Rome," admitted Reid, who trained with Markus Beerbaum for many years: "This was the perfect preparation for us."

Japan's Eiken Sato successful again

Many tried in vain to beat the American's time. The closest was Eiken Sato, Japanese Olympian, with Chacanno JRA, bred by his trainer Paul Schockemöhle / Lewitz stud. A fine success for the veteran in the saddle, because “the world championships are a goal for us this year, we hope to be there.” Sato was also part of the Japanese Olympic team in Tokyo.

The best German in third place was Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann from Pinneberg, who rode her “plane” Chesmu KJ to third place. "He always jumps very high, it really feels like flying," laughs the show jumper, who has had the eager gray horse in her stable for 1.5 years. Just a few weeks ago, she won the Deutsche Kreditbank AG Grand Prix at Horses & Dreams meets Canada and was now one of the top three in the Grand Prix in Redefin.

The show jumping arena was crowded on Sunday – Redefin's horse festival was a real destination that was also used for picnics and meetings with family and friends. A circumstance that gave organizer Francois Kasselmann a good feeling. "Everyone has been waiting for this after two years and it's just great to see and experience that you can meet again. There was also really great sport," says Kasselmann, "and we can be grateful that our partners and sponsors made it possible for us to experience a horse festival Redefin again."

Elitist wins NÜRNBERGER BURG-POKAL

The eight-year-old gelding Elitist by Escolar won the qualification for the NÜRNBERGER BURG-POKAL in Redefin with his trainer Juliane Brunkhorst from Harsefeld. As in the preliminary test, the trainer took the lead in the Prix St. Georg Spezial with the Rhenish gelding. Redefin's Horse Festival is one of only 12 nationwide stations for the most important German series for young horses aged 7 - 9 years. The 38-year-old Juliane Brunkhorst should have fond memories of the sports weekend in Redefin anyway, because with Aperol she also won the international Grand Prix freestyle of the CDI3* and before that the Grand Prix. The riders from 14 nations felt comfortable at the new location. "It's very practical and good for us to have the trial area and the warm-up area so close together," emphasized Brunkhorst, "and for the younger horses, who have hardly seen any spectators in the past two years, it was a completely different experience .”

The varied program, which ranged from the Bundeschampionat qualifications to the Grand Prix Freestyle and Grand Prix Special, plenty of sun and the inviting grandstand attracted many curious dressage fans to the Parade Stadium on Sunday. The view from the seat is great - from there you have a complete view of both the warm-up area and the test area, and access to the dressage stadium was also completely free.

“There is always something that could be changed or improved,” says Francois Kasselmann, “but as always, we look at that afterwards. I don't think there's any reason why we shouldn't experience the international horse festival again in 2023."
