Warendorf (fn-press). The Holstein gelding C Vier, with which show jumper David Will has celebrated his greatest successes to date, has been sold. The horse is no longer available to Will. As a result, national coach Otto Becker has to do without one of the currently most successful German couples in the Olympic squad when planning for this year's World Show Jumping Championships (6-14 August).

With the 14-year-old C Vier (by Cardento - Concorde), David Will (Dagobertshausen) was part of the German team that won the silver medal at the 2021 European Championships. In the individual classification, they took seventh place. The two recently finished sixth in the World Cup final, making them the best German couple in Leipzig. Will has been riding the bay gelding owned by Janine Rijkens for a year and a half. "I am extremely grateful to the Rijkens family for giving me the chance to ride this amazing horse and celebrate so many wins together," David Will wrote on Instagram. "My thanks also go to the entire team, who put in so much effort and many extra hours to look after C Vier so well. We wish him and his new rider all the best for the future.”

National coach Otto Becker said: "This is a big loss for David and also for us with regard to the upcoming championships. The couple was a fixture in the Olympic squad and a candidate for the World Championships in Herning. Nevertheless, I would also like to thank the owner for making the horse available for the 2021 European Championships. That gave David the chance to ride his first championship, where he immediately won a medal.”
